Pot lights, LED retrofits, ceiling fans, chandeliers, under-cabinet, outdoor security and landscape lighting, installed and wired properly by licensed electricians.
Good lighting changes how a room works, and an Edmonton winter is long enough to make it worth doing well. MNR Electric lays out pot lights so there are no hot spots, chooses the right colour temperature for a kitchen versus a bedroom, puts dimmers where they matter and makes sure every fixture is on a circuit that can carry it. Outside, we wire security, soffit and landscape lighting that survives minus thirty.
Recessed layouts for kitchens, living rooms and basements, slim LED retrofits for existing cans, dimmable and colour-selectable fixtures.
Fan-rated boxes, heavy fixture supports, vaulted-ceiling installs and the separate switching a fan-light needs.
Under-cabinet strips, pendants over islands, vanity lighting and the GFCI and AFCI protection those rooms require.
Soffit lights, security and motion lighting, low-voltage landscape systems, post lights and seasonal plug points on a timer.
LED-compatible dimmers, three-way and four-way switching, occupancy sensors and smart switches that work with your existing wiring.
Whole-home LED conversions that cut lighting power use by 75 percent or more and pay for themselves.
It depends on ceiling height, room use and how bright you like it. As a rule of thumb for an 8 foot ceiling, pot lights go about 4 to 6 feet apart and roughly 2 to 3 feet off the walls. We lay it out with you on site rather than guessing.
Yes. Fishing cable through finished ceilings and walls is routine, and we keep any openings small and easy to patch.
Almost always an older dimmer that is not rated for LED loads, or a mix of bulbs on one dimmer. Swapping to an LED-rated dimmer fixes it.
Replacing a fixture on an existing box does not need one. Adding circuits, new boxes or exterior wiring does, and we include the permit and inspection in our price.
